Bringing inspiration to a standardized life.

My name is Isabel McLain. I am a high school senior currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. So you might wonder why I started a blog in the midst of my hardest and busiest semester. Well I’ve started a rebellion--a personal rebellion against the mechanical, formulaic academic system that focuses only on test scores and seems to only reward replication of facts and figures. I want…no, it is more than that. I need to be creative even in the midst of extreme academic and college app pressure. I don’t want my creativity to take a backseat to my SAT scores or GPA. So this blog is a way for me to be creative, expressive, and reflective…all without the pressure of a grade!
Creativity is becoming rare in our fast paced, microwave-instant society. The consequences of this are devastating. Whether it be consumerism, pure laziness, fear of failure, or whatever else, less and less people spend their time looking for inspiration to incite their passions and lead to new discoveries. Therefore, I decided to start this blog to bring inspiration to the “creatively unreachable” through art, music, quotes, articles, videos, reflective writing and more. Who knows, maybe more people will find ways to become more creative, and less obsessed with conformity and competition.
